Twilight Characters

The following are the main cast members that have starred in the series of twilight films, we’ll cover some basic history regarding the actors and their history.

Bella Swan

Bella is the main character of the twilight series and is the wife of Edward Cullen. She moved to Forks, Washington and immediately fell in love with Edward.  She became a vampire and soon after gave birth to a daughter, Renesme Cullen.  Bella is played  by the actor Kristen Stewart, who was born April 9th, 1990. Kristen was born in Colorado, but grew up in LA. She has won several acting awards (many due to the twilight series). She got her first real chance at acting in 2001, playing a part in The Safety Of Objects. Films you may know her from are Twilight, The Messengers and The Panic Room.

Edward Cullen

Robert Pattinson plays the role of Edward in the twilight movies. He was born in 1986, in the capital of the United Kingdom – London. Growing up he had played a great deal of sports and music, and was generally very active in his youth. He started acting at the age of 15, and his first movie was a German Movie called Ring of the Nibelung. His first big movie was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire during 2003, however the thing that really brought Robert his fame is the role of Edward in Twilight.

Jacob Black

Jacobs character in Twilight is played by Taylor Lautner, who was bought in Michigan during February, 1992. He studied karate during his childhood, competing and winning several tournaments. He interviewed for his first commercial at 7 years of age, although was sadly not successful. Since this however he has started in several movies and tv episodes, ranging from Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl to Cheaper By The Dozen 2.

Jasper Hale

Jasper is a member of the Cullen coven, and as such is the adopted son of both Carlisle and Esme. He is married to Alice. He was born in Texas and was in the Confederate Army in 1861. He was highly charismatic and became a general rather quickly. After he was injured, he was turned into a vampire when he was only 19 years old. He carried through his transformation the ability to understand and change the emotions of people around him.  He is played by Jackson Rathbone, an American actor who is best known for his role as Jasper, but also had a part in The Last Airbender.

Rosalie Hales

Rosalie is the wife of Emmett, and the adopted daughter of both Carlisle and Esme.  She looks 18, but has been a vampire for over 70 years. She’s extremely beautiful and in the past was very vain and shallow. She wishes that she could have children and despises being a vampire most of the time.  She is played by Nikki Reed in the films, who starred and wrote the film 13. She also appeared in Lords of Dogtown and Minis First Time.

Emmett Cullen

Emmett is the husband of Rosalie and the adopted son of both Carlisle and Esme.  He is extremely tall and muscular, causing many people to be intimidated by him. However, he is most often the funniest member of the coven.  He became a vampire after being mauled by a bear in 1935.  Rosalie found him and decided to spare his life, bringing him to Carlisle and asking Carlisle to turn them it into a vampire.  He is played by Kellan Lutz, who is best known as a model and got his big break in the Twilight films

Alice Cullen

Alice Cullen is played by Ashley Green, a young acto from Jacksonville. Her dreams were always to become and Actress, and she chased her dream until she made it. She attended high school in Los Angeles looking for a role as an Actress. She has however done other things in her life other than acting, including being a model. She has been featured on shows such as MAD TV, and Kind Of California.

Carlisle Cullen

Carlisle Cullen is the adoptive father of Edward, Emmett, Alice, Rosalie, and Jasper. He appears to be 23 in age, but in fact is over 300 years old. His appearance is slim, muscular, and attractive. Because of his age, he has had much time to work on his medical skills as well as his ability to resist feeding on humans.  Fun fact: Forbes magazine listed him as the most wealthy fictional character of all time, because of the compound interest he could accumulate over his longtime on Earth.  He is played by Peter Facinelli in the movies, who is known for his roles in Fastlane and Can’t Hardly Wait.

 Esme Cullen

Esme if the adoptive mother of Edward, and that, Alice, Rosalie, and Jasper. She is also the adoptive mother in law of Bella, as well as the grandmother of Renesmee.  Esme became a vampire 1921, after she failed to kill herself when her baby miscarried. Carlisle was her doctor and saved her just as she was about to die. They fell in love and began their coven of vampires that did not feed on humans. She has an amazing ability to love and protect, making her one of the best mother figures of all time. She is played by Elizabeth Reaser, who is known for her roles in Saved, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Family Stone.
